...so i'm spending all of my time craft-craft-crafting away right now! time to prep for my first (ever) craft show! woo-hoo! knitting, beading and crocheting my little heart out.... pictures soon(ish). :o)

busy, busy, busy! ...and my daughter's birthday kitty!

i've been busy crafting away since my last post. mostly crocheting (big surprise)... now i just need to figure out how to get pictures on this here thing-a-ma-blog...

i made this "kitty" for my daughter's 4th birthday... i think she came out pretty darn cute. err, aside from her obvious lack of whiskers... which she'll get. eventually.

she's kind of a mish-mash of a few patterns, but she's mostly from this book.
(i'll do my best to get some better pictures of her up in the future)

exciting monotony.

i'm feeling like i should be blogging... seeing as how i post the rest of my life on facecbook or "tweet" it all, i think that maybe i should be saying a little more here. open ranting or yammering is also acceptable here, which makes for slightly more interesting topics... or should. shouldn't it? i feel like i get on here and writing is almost a chore. or i need to find something that will attract people, who may actually find this all too normal life of mine interesting.

okay, so i'm a mother of three - yeah, i guess it's a big family by today's standards... but it's not big enough for anyone to really care. i bake alot... what of it? i'm no martha stewart. i crochet and craft in general... again, not really interesting (and, again not martha stewart).

ho-hum.

maybe someday things will start to happen. until then, all none of you out there reading this will contintue being bored to death by my lack-luster life.

food, food and more food.

shaweet! ace of cakes just came on, and it's the one where they do the cake for the 100th episode of LOST! woo-hoo!!! i love this one... the merging of two of my favorite shows, yay!

anyhoo.................. lots of baking and try of new recipes lately, especially for the 4th of july. martha stewart's lemon cake, alton brown's granola bars, marshmallows... and that was just for the holiday. but now, after all the baking, i'm kinda sweeted out. so it's savory time! this, of course involves more cooking, less baking. mainly, the cooking of cheese sauces... oooooohhh, yeeeeah. tonight's dinner was phenomenal... and phenomenonally easy (i'm currently questioning my spelling abilities. eh.). potato gnocchi, garlic/parmesan/ricotta/fontina alfredo sauce topped with steamed asparagus.

sweet treats; not-so-sweet attitudes

so i'm considering making more hand-pies today and just realized that i never did a follow-up after making them before......... the verdict??? kick ass! the crust was, by far, one of the best crusts i've ever tasted! last time i did strawberry/rhubarb. this time i'm planning on mixed berries! mmmm, i can't wait! hopefully the kiddies behave so they can have some, too. it's been one of those days.... bad attitudes + mounting and attempting to pummel the sister = NO treats! sorry.

...wait, no i'm not.

ugh.

i'm tired and over-caramelized.... werther's chewy caramels will be the death of me.

time to stop chewing and do some crunches.

once again, i'm up way too late. STILL no hand pies. :o( hopefully tomorrow. along with a dmv trip (yay.) and LOTS o' housework. so not looking forward to tomorrow. well, aside from potential baked goodness.

i'm really wishing i'd taken a picture... eh, maybe another day. yummy, yummy banana-nut muffins and ricotta with granola and fresh blueberries and strawberries. it was beautiful and delicious!

...that reminds me, i need to make my hand pies today! ...can't let that rhubarb go bad! (i got the recipe from angry chicken)

...there's a first time for everything...

here we go now... this is just as intimidating as a blank piece of paper... or canvas, worse! i've written so many times about "mental constipation" (wow, i hope adsense doesn't pick up on THAT one, yikes!)... and it never fails. i get a new notebook, canvas, blog, etc.; sit down to work on it and... ::fart noise:: ...nothing comes.
